Scott Point School officially opened by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

On Friday, our Northern team had a surprise guest attend the official opening of Scott Point School – a brand new local community school in Hobsonville, Auckland for year 1 – 8 primary students. Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern came along to check out the amazing new building which is home to 28 teaching spaces, an admin building, hall and gymnasium, library, sports field and hardcourts, plus a BLENNZ Satellite Unit (Blind and Low Vision Education Network NZ).

In fact, the students had a gift for the Prime Minister on arrival – writing her name in braille using Lego (pictured below) and said it’s “a beautiful new school”, sharing the update and a number of pictures on her official Facebook page. Pam King, School Principal also said, “Hawkins was the most amazing company she has ever worked with. They listened and went above and beyond”.

A huge congratulations to our team who were onsite from January 2021, and a massive thank you to the Ministry of Education, Design Team and our amazing subcontractors and suppliers – we couldn’t have delivered this project without you.

A shout out to The Building Intelligence Group Barnes Beagley Doherr Ltd, Ignite Architects, and our Hawkins gang including Chris Fields, Greg Rust, Martin O’ Sullivan Tom Lovelock Jason Laurich David Harris and Bruce Hodge

We’re super proud of our team for delivering yet another education facility – a great example of Hawkins building better communities for our tamariki.
