Multi-purpose meetings rooms and activity spaces for social, edication and community activities
A community fitness centre, and
Small leaseable offices and hot desks for community use
The Taita Sport & Community Centre is a project managed by The Community Facilities Trust (CFT), a Council-controlled organisation. Alister Skene, CFT Chairman says, “This is our first project to reach the construction stage and will be followed by a number of others in the next two years. We are delighted to be able to progress the initial work started by Council and the community, and bring these plans to life.
“I would particularly like to thank our main funding partners, the Pelorus Trust, Lottery Grants Board, Hutt City Council, and especially all those who have made contributions such as sponsoring a seat in the Centre”
Hutt City Mayor, Ray Wallace says, “The Taita Sport & Community Centre will make a real difference to the community.
“It will provide a much needed indoor sports centre for the Hutt Valley and will attract events that will benefit the local economy. Importantly, it will also create a heart in the suburb of Taita; places where people can play sport, learn, connect with social services and engage with their community.”
